The biggest hole in the world


The hole is not only remarkable, but some of them are really horrible! The sheer size of these gaping holes reminds us of how men will scar the earth to continue their quest for power and wealth.

1. Kimberley Big Hole - South Africa


Apparently the largest ever hand dug excavation in the world, 1097 meters in the mine produces more than 3 tons of diamonds before it closed in 1914.


2. Glory Hole - Monticello Dam, California
